Prologue - “A Vampire’s Regret”

A vampire and a human could never be in love. Love was not to be for them. Vampires should stay strictly to vampires and humans to humans. That’s what everyone believed. Everyone but those two foolish ones who thought it would be okay to be in love in secret. The vampire fell in love with the female mortal and she fell in love with his vampire charm. He had not tried to charm her, but there was something about her that had lead her to him and they fell in love.
A love in secret is very short lived, especially for them. At the end of the 18th century, a vampire and a human fell in love. Their love was suppose to be forever and it seemed like it would be until that fateful night.
“I want you to have this...” She said to him as she handed him a red crystal orb with two crow feathers fused to the center of the orb, so that the feathers pointed on a slant upwards,
“I bought it at the market when I was little and now I want you to have it.”
“But why...?” He asked as he held her hand, his lips touching it lightly as the sun started to raise,
“Our love is forever... just like that magical hair pin I have been wearing for so long. By giving it to you... I promise... I will never leave you.”
“All humans eventually die, Crystal....”
“I know Dante... but... you can change that. Trust me, it’ll work.”
“Alright... I must go, the sun is raising, Crystal.. Don’t forget. We leave tomorrow night.”
“Right!” Crystal said with a smile as the two departed.
It wasn’t long before the next night came. Dante came to Crystal’s home with her to get her things, but when they arrived, someone woke up and it was all over.
“Crystal!” Dante shouted, her blood spilling onto him,
“Dante.... keep the....” She started to fade,
“D-don’t go!” Dante said, tears filling his eyes, “Don’t leave me all alone again! You’re the first person... I’ve ever cared about... Crystal! No! Please!” Her eyes turned dull and they shut, her body limp, she was dead.
“C-Crystal...” The vampire said, sobbing on her body. She was dead... Crystal, the human woman, was gone. Their love.... didn’t last for forever...

People seem to like the idea of this book a lot so... I did the prologue for it. The voting is for seeing chapter 1 first.

I'm drew the image for this but I can't find the cord for my camera so I can upload it... -sigh-

Oh yeah! Yes... I named him Dante too. For Dante means everlasting and Dante is a vampire thus the title: Vampire Everlasting

awww. they really loved each other so much. they were going against the laws of nature and succeded, but their succession came to a tragic end. so sad :cries:
